God's Word: Week 3 - Devotion 3
There is a story about a soldier who was on night patrol when one of his friends on patrol with him started asking about his faith in God. The soldier always kept a New Testament with the words of Jesus in red in his pocket and took out his flashlight to share some verses with the guy. Now, if you know anything about military patrols at night, soldiers can only use flashlights with red lenses. When he turned on the red light, and it hit the red words, guess what happened? The words disappeared! You literally couldn’t see them. The red light canceled out the red ink. It was as if his Bible were blank! From that night on the soldier vowed to start memorizing verses in the Bible.
This week you learned about treasuring God’s Word. Do you treasure it enough to start memorizing it? Below are six great verses on the Word of God and pick one or two to memorize this week.
