God's Mercy: Week 3 - Devotion 3

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God." – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Read these verses and reflect on them for a moment or two.

What do they say to you about why God blesses us like He does? Take a minute and record your thoughts in a journal or a note-taking app.

Now, think about this:

  • If you have experienced God’s comfort, what does Paul say you’re supposed to do in return?

  • If we don’t show love and mercy to others, what does that say about our attitude toward what God has done for us?

Spend some time in prayer with God today asking Him to give you the strength to be a person of mercy, showing love and kindness to people in your life, especially those who don’t deserve it.
