Spiritual Gifts: Week 2 - Devotion 3

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:11-13

The passage listed above is one of the passages you studied this week in Bible study. In it, you saw that your spiritual gifts are to all work together for unity and to build up the body of Christ.

Take a few minutes today and think about your youth group.

What does it mean to you that you’re expected and designed by God to be a unified group?

What do you think that even means? Unified in what? And what role do your spiritual gifts play in being a unified group?

As yourself what are some ways you show unity?

Then, think of some other areas where your youth group needs to be more unified.

Spend a few minutes praying that God would work to bring unity in those areas that you wrote down. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be working in the hearts of your friends to make a more unified body of Believers a reality.

Just think of what a powerful force for God’s love and goodness you could be if you were more unified!
