Stewardship: Week 3 - Devotion 3

“This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.” - 1 Corinthians 4:1-2

Have you ever had a friend ask you to keep a secret? Usually, if the secret is some incredible news, it is harder to keep the secret. Do you know that you have the awesome privilege to hold on to one of the most unbelievable mysteries of all time and that is the fact that Jesus provided a way to life everlasting through His death on the cross?

Your Bible contains actual WORDS OF LIFE, and you have one of those Bibles in your house right now.

  • Until about 500 years ago people were not allowed even to own a Bible.

  • Many religious leaders wanted to keep people in the dark about the mysteries of God so they could hold on to their power.

  • People in the Old Testament could only anticipate the arrival of the mystery, Jesus Christ.

So you have the Word of God and the message of God, mysteries to the world for centuries and now readily available to you to share with others. What are you going to with those two things?

The choice is up to you!
