Pastor Search Fast

Pastor Search Fast

Please join us during the week of May 20-26 as we fast for our Pastor Search process. Watch the video above for details about the fast, what fasting is, the Biblical basis for a fast, and how we do it.

You might fast from: one meal each day, social media, screen time, or something else that you normally do.

Below are some prayer points to guide you during this fast. However, feel free to pray as the Lord leads.

Day One

Pray for keen supernatural discernment, wisdom, and strength for the team during this process.

”Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2

Day two

Pray for powerful unity and oneness of spirit within the team.

“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” - Matthew 18:19

Day Three

Pray for the team to have no timetable but God’s. They must be determined to find God’s perfect will in God’s perfect time.

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” - Ephesians 5:17

Day Four

Pray that we, as the church, will patiently await God’s timing and settle for nothing less than His perfect will. Ask God for His mercy in giving us a true man of God and a great leader.

“And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patient inherit the promises.” - Hebrews 6:12

Day Five

Pray for the prevention of Satan’s influence in misleading or rushing the search team. Pray for a powerful hedge of protection around the committee and their families.

Day Six

Pray for the future pastor and his family to have absolute certainty in their sense of call to our church. He must know he has God’s direction.

Day Seven

Pray for God’s guidance in how the future pastor is presented to the church. Pray for the church to have a supernatural unity in his call to our church. Pray also for God’s strength and guidance in the pastor’s former church.

“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” - 1 Corinthians 1:10

THank you for joining with us in prayer

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.” - Acts 13:2-3
